It’s Scribbling, Sticking, Splodging, Splatting, Scrunching & Splashing
At Little Scribblers kids can make as much mess & have as much “Creative” fun as they like.
They make a masterpiece & take it home.
Without the mess for you.
Our craft changes each week & normally relates too our term theme.
“Its fabulous, its friendly, its messy and my children adore it!!”
Samantha Woodhead First Choice For Families
“Sage”
the woodland Elf who lives in the woodland introduces our classes but hides behind our Hand print tree in class. The children sit around & call Sage from her hiding place (She’s very Shy!!) Sage likes the sound of rain & so the Children are encouraged to pat their knees to make the sound of falling rain which sage loves. She then pops out from behind the screen to welcome the children.
Because Sage is a shy woodland Elf she doesn’t scare the children but encourages them to be friends with her. She will “Mirror” shy children and play “Boo” with them until they feel relaxed. Then Sage shows the children the craft of the day. We don’t do “A Step by Step” guide, as we want your child to create his or her own individual masterpiece.
The classes are relaxed so if your little one doesn’t want to “Craft” straight away they can move freely around the different areas exploring.
Our classes are planned around the children’s senses. Although they are far too young to know what’s going on! We stimulate their senses through 5 different areas.
The craft pods which focuses on colour, shapes and textures.
Messy play tubs that are filled with anything from flour to sand or sugar puffs! They always contrast so you will find a soft & scrunchy. Or wet and dry. Your child may go home as Casper the ghost one week or be covered in foam another. Either way they have a ball. We always put play toys in each tub so they can be creative with Farm animals or construction vehicles or teapot & pans.
We have Black board easels set up so the children can scribble to their heart content.
We also have a pod set up for “free craft” its an area that changes weekly. It can be stamps one week, string painting or marble painting or anything that you can do with your child using different items and techniques. There is loads of paper so you can make pictures for grandparents too.
And finally we have a pod of play dough where the children can investigate & exercise their sense of smell. The play dough is fragranced so it could be peppermint one week or rosemary the next...
At the end of the classes Sage will look at the children’s masterpiece & whisper praise to me. I then encourage the Children!
I guess Sage is my alter ego!!
